They have played every genre: death, black, heavy, punk, you name it. At times they were the best at what they did, in other instances they kind of hit and missed. You either love them or hate them. But no matter which side one takes, one cannot but admit that the mighty duo of Darkthrone has written loads of important pages in the book of our favourite music. Arctic Thunder is their new album. And, as with every new release by them, we wonder: what did they try to do this time?

^ Literally lol'd. Awful point there, sorry. no one expects this to be the best album of their genre or career or genre from such a legandary band at this point of their career. Would be helpful if your comment was a bit relevant. I did hear a song off this before and it did sound like a return to their bm sound. So very excited to check this out.

Very little crust leanings whatsoever. Just classic heavy metal and with slight bm influenced songwriting. Good record but not a supreme masterpiece ot a groundbreaker of any sorts.

Best produced album from Darkthrone? Anyway, not to shabby, not too exciting either. Pretty straightforward heavy metal fused with BM.

Not a bad record by any stretch and there isn't really a song I dislike. I do however feel as though i'd have enjoyed it further with more fast paced songs/drums, and if it was made a bit less straightforward, eg. a few more good ideas thrown in the mix. It's good BM though
