This guy is just relentless, his one of the busiest, and most ambitiously talented musicians in black metal right now, and what a line-up of guests he had working beside him on this as well. As usual I'll be looking forward to hearing this.

Good god that is a lot of folks collaborating. I’m excited as always to hear how this turns out. Kátai hasn’t disappointed me yet.

That's one insane lineup. Guest list alone is a reason to listen.

So far he's released real quality singles after a fairly short wait since last album. This man is insane.

The genius is back again. There are a lot of great moments on this one.
Favorite tracks: 03. Vasgyár (the end in particular), 04. Világnak Világa, 09. Aláhullás

Are these last three albums thematically connected? I’ve listened to a handful of albums but not super familiar with his work. I just noticed they are all folksy looking people with a landscape background that seem to hold a common theme.

Just finished my first listen and goddamn, this is a fine piece of work. So many different styles covered here and the albums flows perfectly. I need a few more listens but I could see this growing to AOTY level!

Listened a few times today and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it's connected a bit more with me than the previous two. The blend is working really well for me and there's some great tracks on here

Just as I expected, another top quality album, I shouldn't expect anything less really. I can't say whether I prefer it to the previous two albums before it yet as each album has it's very own uniqueness, and quirkiness, and outstanding moments. One thing I must say though is that the production is spectacular.

Lol, I just find out that "Lydiahoz" is a cover of the Polish classic folk song "Czerwone Korale" by Brathanki:
Edit: Actually, the composition was written by Ferenc Sebő. Sorry my bad

Tamás showing his versatility yet again. It's ridiculous and impressive that he just released an album last year but still felt like sneaking a new one in before this year was over, and they're both really good. And this is the third time he's released 2 albums in less than 2 years between. It's rare to see high quality and frequent output go hand in hand. Alföld was his most metal album in a while but this is arguably even heavier in some ways. Personally I would have liked just a little more weirdness but I still love it. Lydiához is the only song which I don't find quite as strong as the rest but that makes sense since it isn't really his song. I still like it even though I always think they are about to start singing the old Batman theme.
This is easily my AOTY but to be fair it didn't have much competition.

This is pure bliss. This guy is someone from future. What a variety of music he has delivered !!!! 😍 Not even a single track that you can skip.

It is incredible how Tamas manages to recycle his music. Absolutely phenomenal considering he creates music with that frequency and consistency.

This is the 1st album of this band I'm checking out at the moment. Have to say it's incredibly interesting and varied so far.
How did I never listen to this band before? No clue, but better late than never I guess. Also, how did he manage to get such a large amount of guest musicians to contribute? It's really insane.

Haha that's true. I've been traveling a lot since I left MS in 2015. Now that I'm back, that won't change though.

I'm assuming at this point he has enough musician friends and has made enough of a name for himself that everyone wants to work with him. Plus he just seems to love collaboration so he always reaches out to bring people in.
If you want to try more from the band I'd suggest Vadak. It's a recent album that most people seemed to enjoy and it also has a lot of variety, perhaps almost too much. All of his albums are pretty different though. I've been working my way through all of his albums the last few years but even after hearing 10 of them I still never know what to expect when I pick up a new one. That makes it a lot of fun.

It's always exciting to see a new Thy Catafalque album has been released. The opening track is one of the best compositions I've heard in the past few years.

I’m a bit late to this, but was reminded to check this out from the Awards nominees. Really great album, but the last two tracks left a sour taste in my mouth (?). They sound half-assed compared to the rest. I’d probably have rated this higher if not for those two songs.

Funny you say that. I absolutely love those two tracks. I mean, the whole album is great but the vocals on those two tracks are great and it ends on a high note, simple and effective.

I think it was precisely the vocals that put me off. It might just be one of my unreasonable peculiarities of taste

I saw that the page is missing the bonus track - fixed now. So I was actually referring to tracks 10 and 11. Just for uh...posterity

I was operating on that assumption anyway, so in the end no misunderstanding there.

Great album yet again from Thy Catafalque. No doubt the compositions are really good, but his output is way too frequent. It's almost he is not giving me time to miss his previous works before he delivers a new one.
