Gave it a few more listens... rather unwillingly. It does seem better on repeat listens and you get to hear stuff you initially missed. But I can't see any of the songs being regulars on my playlist.

I guess this is just a genre that is easy to consume, so people drool over it. For now it seems like 6.5-7 album to me overall.

I would say that this is one of those rare recycled products that is actually very enjoyable. This will come off as a blasphemy but at times it almost sounds like upgraded version of Clayman. I swear that Coda is a rip-off of (multiple) In Flames song(s) that I cannot quite put a finger on but I do not care really, at least here are involved some of the same members that made the "original". The only thing that I am annoyed by are the Stanne's clean vocal moments - not that they are very bad or anything like that, but they usually appear in the weakest (parts of the) songs and do not add anything to the experience.

But it is true that I did not give this that many spins yet, at the moment I prefer it to the first one (which I also liked).

If this had been dropped cirka 2005, it probably would have been my favorite album ever. Cool melodies, I like them. Stanne sounds awesome, best I ever heard him I think. I'll probably revisit this every now and then, just 'cause it's so well done, but this is really not the kind of music I listen to a lot nowadays. But it's good to get a new album of melodeath that I can put on when the craving shows itself.
