I can see a lot many people see this vandi and album are over rated and to underline that they are rating this as low as 4..... Guys you are now doing the same mistake by under rating them.....
Well this album is another favorite for me. ...Still listening and still growing..... I have lost interest in 10+ min songs under Prog genre but Atmospheric still gets the credit.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

I love the sound, but the melodic songwriting is either lazy or amateur…something the last few Saor albums I’ve heard suffer from. Compared to the expert melodic craft of Moonsorrow this sounds like a demo (not production-wise). Or to put it into context: I can’t remember a single part of this album after hearing it.

I recall enjoying the Soar debut and haven’t listened to the few albums that followed. Maybe I should now.

I agree with this. This band is somewhat carried by their abilities to write a melody (as is a lot of this contemporary atmoblack), which results in a few really good songs amidst a discography of unmemorable and uninteresting songs. This is all in comparison to bands like Moonsorrow (which you mentioned) and Agalloch, who write great songs, not just great melodies now and then.

This album is my introduction to the band. At first, I wasn't particularly impressed but after a few more listens my impressions changed and the album started to resonate with me. It might not be revolutionary, but it does a great job at evoking a certain type of melancholic yet uplifting atmosphere that we've come to expect from atmo-black metal bands. The folk instruments and female vocals are a nice touch too. Last week, I listened to the album during a long walk through wood and parkland. The album really blossomed into a perfect soundtrack to the environment. This and Havukruunu's Tavastland are getting the most spins from me at the moment.

It's ok with some enjoyable bits. For songs of this length, you should really be writing more riffs rather than doubling the length of existing ones - but here we are.
