Very non-Avantasia-y art there. Kinda sucks but I kinda like it for some reason. Any new Avantasia is a good thing so I can't wait.

It looks like those old Roger Dean prog rock album covers. I like it honestly, it’s simple but pops out.

I like it, it looks like throwback fantasy art from 80's Del Rey books. I've been going back through their back catalogue and getting nostalgic, so color me excited.

I liked it a lot, which I wasn't expecting, despite being a fan of his symphonic stadium rock stuff. However, "Unleash the Kraken" is absolute ass and if removed makes this album on par with some of the band's better releases, after the last album being a misstep.

With all respect, I think that "unleash the Kraken" its the highlight of the album ! But hey, whatever its power métal great fun !

This one is more enjoyable than A Paranormal Evening. Very close to Moonglow in quality. Overall pretty standard rock operatic Avantasia.

Enjoyable album lacking a standout track. Against The Wind is my favourite here.

I loved every second of this album, it feels like a renewed energy, It's a faster and very easy to listen to, no need to listen to the entire album, you just can pick a random track on it and have a nice time. It's different from the last 2 works, as it's not as sophisticated or over-elaborate, it's an album that goes straight to the point of the song we're waiting for, without so much preamble, which I think is a good evolution, maybe that´s one of the reasons this is the shorter album and there are no so much guest as before. Is the most Edguy album that we had in Avantasia, and this is good i think, because here we can see all the potential of Sammet on the voices, sometimes we forget how good singer he is.
It's not a game-changer, it's not Sammet's best work, but it's an excellent album, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

I can't choose between "The Moorland At Twilight" and "Against The Wind" as to my favorite track in the album. Anyway like a lot of albums it has a powerful start and what didn't make this album excellent for me is that the middle part (track #4 to #6) is not as good, and the result is that the album is a little unbalanced. Still a fun album to listen to overall.

Haha, fair enough. At least we both agree the album is great.

This is a slight step up from A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society imo. The songwriting is nowhere near the level of their early work but it's still an enjoyable listen regardless, and it does have it's few moments of glory.

Another few stand out things after more listens: Tobias' masterful melodies are just as present here as always. Even after a single listen I had choruses stuck in my head endlessly. A small drawback would be I'm really missing the epic, multi-guest tracks from the albums like Moonglow or The Scarecrow. But almost all the songs here are fantastic so I don't really care.
And yeah "Unleash the Kraken" isn't that bad.

Bumped up my rating. Album’s a grower for sure. Especially the title track.

Incredibly disappointing album. On par with most of their recent stuff. Guitar solos were the only redeeming factor for most of the songs. A few good songs the rest I'm fine never hearing again. Also extremely annoying they saved Kahn for the ballad.

The rhythm guitar sound/production on this album is excellent. The songwriting is underwhelming. "Avalon" and "Here Be Dragons" are the only two tracks I might listen to again.

Better to start with track 3, that's where this album started for me. Then the rest of the album makes up for the first 2 bland tracks. It is a "Return To The Opera!" Also, Unleash The Kraken and Avalon (should be track 1) carry the album towards the end. Some nice old fashioned du du pa- du du pa on the drums on UTK. Not to mention ATW! The closer is a epic ballad. Tobias' is still a total class act.
