Do bands usually start touring with the new album before it releases? Seems counter-intuitive when you want to crowd to be invested by knowing songs intimately or, at the very least, at the surface level?

Not only due to leaks but I also bet a couple of websites will stream it. way before. Also, let's not forget the fans that always buy no matter what.

I personally don't think I gain anything from knowing the songs first hand. If I like it I'll remember it. Plus, I hate when people too acquainted sing alone.
