German thrashers Dust Bolt will be soon releasing their fourth full length installment. Entitled Trapped In Chaos, this new effort will see the light on January 18th, 2019 via Napalm Records. To taste a piece of it, the band exclusively premiere a brand new single "Bloody Rain", now available for streaming as a lyric video.

Vocalist/guitarist Lenny Breuss comments on the song: "Bloody Rain" is a really special and outstanding song on the new album and in the history of Dust Bolt. It is by far the most melodic song vocalwise, though it´s also a really dark and heavy banger - especially towards the ending. The song was written by our guitarist Flo Dehn. I remember him calling me multiple times as he had this song he needed to show me immediately on a rainy and pale day. Mentally it was a dark and uncertain time for both of us, which probably made the song, what is is now. Uncomprehendingly, in some ways "grungy", heavy and as nihilistic as it can get."

Dust Bolt is awesome. I loved their first three albums and believed they are in the new Big Four in the NWOTM. However, this song and Dead Inside are completely different than their other material. It's still good, but it's pretty generic and mediocre now. The raw energy and power in their music seems tamed and this seems like a step towards the mainstream to a degree. I can't say I'm a fan of either song. If they upped up on Pandora I wouldn't switch songs but I wouldn't give it a thumbs up either. I hope the rest of their new album is more aggressive, faster and hard hitting.
