I have never heard such a dull track by Equilibrium .. coming from someone who loved the first three albums and liked the fourth one

It almost sounds like folk-sprinkled generic 2010 metalcore with synths. Vocals are sorely missing some high end... But I'm confident they will find a new audience as the old one will be alienated to no end.

Badass song! I like all of their albums and the new direction they've gone is really cool.

Same here... They are my childhood's epic band, the folk metal I loved the most, even when I am shifted to oldschool metal. Loved Armageddon, but this is a huge disappointment.

Wtf is this? It sounds like Amaranthe.

The song isn't bad, just sounds un-Equilibrium-like. Not sure the direction they're going to take on this album. It seems more modern; like they wanted to strip away the folk elements that made them stand out. Will have to hear the entire thing to come to a verdict though.

My bad - sounds like a mix between Lord Of The Lost AND Amaranthe.

I'm actually relieved to hear this song, yes it's less folky but it is actually a great song.
To me it sounds like a follow up to "Prey" or "Armageddon" from their previous effort.

There's 2 people on the youtube comments section arguing whether this is industrial or melodeath. According to the industrial one "Any kind of elwctronic tunes makes a band industrial. No actual melodeath band uses the keys to that extend." (copy and pasted quote). Both then accuse each other of not knowing what industrial/melodeath are.
What do you guys think?
Oh, and the argument started when someone said this was metalcore.

I GOT SO DISAPPOINTED but just can't let go Equilibrium. HELP ME

I am an Equilibrium freak. Or rather, I used to be... I was so happy that they would move on from the folk as the same thing got me as well (less folk, more synth and down-tuned guitars) but it seems Rene can't really leave the folk melodies behind. I don't believe this change of heart. I see it, I see the motivations and the paths he went but he is still halfway through and the music reflects that. It feels more like a razzle-dazzle.

I wouldn't mind so much if they at least stopped using those stupid skulls. It feels like they still need to show "we are tough", so they keep on putting stupid skulls on every album art (of course, that wasn't the case before Skadi).

I am really sad about the decline first apparent in Erdentempel, since which the drums sound the same to this day. All previous work, including the Demo, shows quite a versatility of overall sound that would always complement the album arts.

Not a bad song. I agree that it sounds "un-equilibrium-ish". I feel some Crematory vibe in it. Well: Let´s wait for the actual album...

I don't like the direction Equilibrium is going. Pass.
