World Cup 2010 - Playoffs

I thought the game yesterday was very good. I like Spain, many of their players and the way they play. But I was actually hoping for Uruguay in the finals, since Eguren play(ed) for AIK we get money for each day he's in the world cup. Ah well, the bronze game is Saturday and the final Sunday. That's just 1000 euros less.

And yes, 1000 euros each day is a lot for a Swedish team. Especially since it's up around 50 000 euros now.

Andrej Komac played in AIK and WC , but he was only sweed, if Swe qual there be more players from Allsvenskan

I'm not overconfident about next Sunday's game, I'm not scared either, and I would not mind losing to the Netherlands. Netherlanders have won all of their matches and deserve a World Cup already, while this is the first time for us. I hope they will show as much respect and sportsmanship as the German gentlemen did so far.

I think - as a Dutchie - we have a lot of respect for Spain, so don't worry. Probably you'll know who the big rival of the Netherlands is, so here's a nice new joke for you...

A German family goes for family shopping. The son goes into the sports store, sees an orange shirt and decides to support the Netherlands in the finale. So he buys the Dutch tricot and shows it to his sister. She takes a look at him, shouts "what have you done" and slaps her brother in the face.
Up next the boy goes to him mom. When she sees the shirt she takes on the boy's ear, gives him a few slaps and says "what have you done? We have to take this up to daddy!". So the guy is brought to dad. When dad sees what his son is wearing, he gives the guy some extra thorough punches and urges him to take the shirt of.

An hour later the family asks whether the little boy has learned his lesson by now. "Yes" the boy replies... "I've been a fan of the Netherlands for only an hour now, but I'm alrighty to really hate the bloody Germans"

He was wrong during the last Euro final, so that means he will be wrong with this final as well
And a Singaporean parakeet who has predicted all the quarter finals and semi finals correctly said the Dutch willwin hahahaha

Plus it's a German octopussy, gheghe. That fish did only predict the German scores right. I do think that on paper Spain may be favorite, but apart from versus Germany I think the teams are up to each other, so a real 50-50% of which hopefully the Dutch will win (okay, a bit chauvinist)

Can we please stfu about the octopus? It's goddamn clear it goes for bright colours only.

Hopefully Torres will play. Or that Villa has a bad day. Honestly, I'm impressed with Spain's midfield football so far but not with their scoring ability. Both teams have a good chance.

yup, octopuses are incredibly intelligent in their own way, they are amazing creatures, and i'm actually pretty sad that they taste so good because it's a shame to simply eat them when we could let them evolve hahah

I agree with Lucas, it's a fifty-fifty situation that will definitely depend on luck and details. I would be deceived if the WC was decided on penalty kicks though.

Other teams that I have liked in the World Cup so far:
- Germany: played a great role (making it to the semi-final) despite being so young and having been playing together for such a short time, I guess it's only Germans who can do this.
- Japan: they were eliminated on the penalty kick round but they can take pride for what they've done for sure. They placed Japan on the football map this year, with their talented defenders and security in corners and free kicks.
- USA: they are slowly becoming a true footballing nation for a reason, as they are spawning many talented players like Feilhaber or Bradley who have a sense of teamwork.

Teams that I did not like:
- Denmark: they need an immediate renovation, playing stone age football leads you nowhere.
- Cameroon: the ultimate African deception, unable to play as a team and to break the adversary's defence with their physical skills.
- France: No need to explain.

Negative:
1)Vuvazales - totaly that sound ruin all, I was pissed of in confederation cup. But sems FIFA will do anything to how to say, alove doa ll in Africa, but one smoke bomb or flair who's not so anoying in Europe, you be banned.
2)3 game sper day , ok its more not SA blame, but FIFA, 2 games like in EC are optimal , its to much for me, how working people camn wtach those?

1)No riots, trobles, fans mixed whit each other sit , are friendly, dont rioting, its good its far from Europe, because hools cant go there , ok small shit hepens ewey where, but so far its so calm
2)Winter in SA, darkness comes faster and games are so interesting when its dark not day,
3)New champion heheeh world be new champion and from Europe, and its draw whit SA 1-1 2002 Korea7Japan , Brazil , 2010 SA-Spain/Ned
4)You can predict who win, many trilling games , and suprises its good one.

Didnt like: All African teams whit out Gana and SA, England whit lame performance, same Italia
and FRaqnce who's more make shit and bitching how play football
Like: Germany, Artentina, Mexico, Nederlands, Uruguay Japan/Korea whit beautifull game

Disaponted: Whit Greece and Italian game, I predcit GReece play like thay played but Italia, but its hisory now.

Suyprise: Ausytralia, New Zeland, Slovenia and Slovakia whut attitude and never give up and 3 points for NZ was good and simply thay play game how can , maybe next time there be luck

my sister lived in Barcelona for about 10 months, i can tell you there's absolutely no need to lump in Catalonia (or Galicia and at least 99% of the Basque people for that matter) with the people who support ETA, and imo Catalonia and Galicia could hardly be called separatist regions anyway. sure there's some fucked up "ethnic pride" people like when i was visiting her last year i saw a protest saying something like "for 20 years we've been burning Spain" but other than that nothing. it's all just media bullshit.

and my guess is that for lack of a better occupation on a Sunday night they will be supporting Spain too

i vote Uruguay will win. if i'm not wrong they're using the exact same team as in the previous game.

i'm not criticizing him, he's an excellent player, but i do think he had it in him to score once again in this match.

Muslera is the one blame... terrible day for him, major failures on the two first German goals... =/ Too bad for losing the 3rd place, but at least Uruguay carve back among the big teams and let Argentina and Brazil behind this time.

By the way.. I can't imagine a great game tomorrow... it seems like it will be a repetition of Spain/Germany... boring game and few chances. At least will be exciting to Dutchs and Spanishs.

Okay... It was a nice match, although I didn't pay much attention to it because I was kinda bored. Both teams played well, scored enough, fought for the win, etc. However, "No matter which team plays, Germany always win in the end" . LOL (No offense, German MSers!) I feel sorry for Forlán who missed out such a great opportunity. Poor guy - he must be feeling really bad now...

Congrats, Germany! I'm looking forward to watching the final which (hopefully) won't be as boring as this game, haha.
