My Point Of View For Stadium Arcadium........

Red Hot Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium"
The only rock band which i consistently listen to and which i will keep on listening is the funky Red Hot Chili Peppers, these guys with amzing albums like Blood Sugar Sex Magix, Mothers Milk, Freaky Styley, Californication, By The Way, One Hot Minute (Oh sorry did i mention all and with there latest release Stadium Arcadium which i am currently listening to is too nothing short of a masterpiece.

Stadium Arcadium - Released 4 years after the release of By The Way (2002) which was disliked by some but i think after listening the album such a long wait is completely justified as many tracks are pure class.

Double CDs, Jupiter and Mars - 28 tracks pure funky phycedelic music, some tracks reminding of there funky "Freaky Styley" and "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" albums while some tracks taking Californication's phychedela for a ride, this album is a perfect mix of both.

Comming to the concept of the two CDs called Jupiter and Mars, suits with this album perfectly. I found the front cover of the album dissapointing but the inner art is good and the booklet with the lyrics of the album is great, specially as the pictures on each page are a perfect appeal to the concept of Jupiter and Mars.

After almost a month I would say that the first disc is flawless but people might find the second disc a bit weak. Nevertheless for a double album Red Got Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium" is a bit more than wellworth.

Has anybody seen that movie "The Chase" (with Charlie Sheen [as an estranged man trying to escape the cops with a young woman he kidnapped] and Kristy Swanson) but also featering Anthony Kiedis and Flea playing two stoners/metalheads in a big 4x4 who try to stop Sheen's red sportscar and end up crashing like imbeciles.

Probably the best part of the movie

And in the movie "Tough Guys" the RHCP play themselves together lol

Ow yeah and about their perfomance on Werchter last month, I thought they were sublime. They were really in a good mood and I thought it was far out! And I didn't expect Kiedis' vocals being so good live
Too bad though they weren't scheduled as headliner (they had to leave earlier for another gig somewhere the next day) so they couldn't play their full "normal" set... Headliner on that day playing after the RHCP were the Black Eyed Something : ... I left the festival area, and so did hundreds of others

One of my favorite bands from the past, but still like it. Actually it was thanks to my father that I began to listen to them. My favorite songs are Airplane, My Friends, Otherside and the cover of Higher Ground.

Actually my fav.Band.

Stadium Arcadium actually was pretty much
Driven by Frusiante's Guitar work, Probably
their first album where guitar was the high point
instead of Bass.

I haven't listened to Stadium Arcadium yet, but I think that Flea's bass should be the highest point, because he's the main characteristic of the band.

@Bitch Boy: well, while flea may be the most distinguished member of the band, And is definitely my favorite, I wouldn't go and say he's what makes the chili peppers.

Let us not forget that Anthony Kiedis is a Lyrical
Mastermind, so while his voice isn't the best, his
Lyrics tend to be highly intelligent and spiritual, and
also contain hidden meanings twords bands which
have influenced them.

Frusiante Is an EXPERT rythym guitarist, and also
can add a funky edge to their music, and is also
the most technically inclined member. I'm happy
the guitar is the highpoint of the album this time
because he seldom get's to express his musical
creativity with the peppers, which is why he has so
many solo albums.

And chad smith........yeah........generic rock Drummer...
...Nothing special really.

But I hope that shows you how unique they are as
as band.

@ Arian Totalis: you're right. What I was trying to say is that without this characteristic bass, it wouldn't be the classical sound of RHCP, but of course Flea isn't the "control freak". I agree with you about Kiedis being a talented songwriter, and his voice is also characteristic of the band.

They are really unique! I like their energy in each song, and it's really interesting combination of rock and funky rhytm... By the way, Californication, Otherside, On Mercury are the songs I often like to hear from RHCP

And video for Danni California
Crazy!

This is without doubt the worst rock band ever IMO! I hate the vocalist and think all their songs sound the same.

I picked up Mother's Milk around '89, liked it. I still do, I suppose. I like some songs off of BSSM, but they have become increasingly annoying. despite the fact I love Dave Navarro from his work with Jane's Addiction, I absolutely despised "one hot minute"... I haven't liked anything I've heard from them since.

A girl I used to work with had the alternative station playing on the radio every day. I could tell how long I had been in by how often I heard "scar tissue", because it was on once an hour, every hour, every day. I heard that song so often I almost got some scar tissue of my own from trying to slash my wrists with a pair of scissors, paper clips, or whatever office supplies I could find in arm's reach.

Their popularity and airplay have hit the point where, like the Beatie Boys, a band I loved 15 years ago is about unlistenable now.

I went to their concert last Saturday and I didn't like it, I think they should have played more songs instead of making long versions of the few songs they played.

Haha, I know what you mean. They tend to do that alot at concerts. The one they played up here in Maryland a few months back was the same way.

@ HauntingNazareth: yes, I know lots of bands make a different version of their songs when they play live, but in this case it turns boring, and sometimes this time they use to play larger versions, could be used for playing more good songs.

These guys are too talented for creating the same rythm over and over again. All their songs do sound the same to me. They are catchy, although!

red hot chili peppers are kinda the first 'rock' band i heard when i was 10 years old, and i bought by the way.

im not keen on the new album, i feel its just so far from what i love about them, the way they mix punky songs with funk and awesome bass from flea. i prefer the early albums like the uplift mofo party plan and mothers milk, i just feel they are stronger albums and just so unique.
