Well, instead of limiting our football talk to just the American Metalstormers thread, I decided to just make a topic about it so that everyone can be included.

My favorite football team is the Seahawks and my favorite player is either Lofa Tatupu or Ken Hamlin. My team got bitch slapped by the Bears recently, but we did suffer from significant injuries.

Anyways, who's your favorite team and player?

Who do you guys see going to the Superbowl this year? It's kinda hard to predict because if a key player gets an injury, the team is basically screwed. I think the Colts have a good chance of finally making it, and will either play the Seahawks or the Bears. I doubt that the Steelers will repeat this year because they haven't looked all that great. Well, I can only hope.

Holy balls the Seahawk game was so fucking horrible. 60 mins of a whole lot of nothing happened. With that said, the 9 sacks were pretty awesome.

Holy shit I actually went 9-5 on my picks this week! That's better than all of these "experts". http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/features/talent Seriously though, last night's game was worthless...and there were some serious upsets this week. Until next time...

Don't vote! Fuck everyone...

haha yeah, our second string is better then their starters lol. The game was kinda boring in the second half, but the defense was fun to watch. It was just so damn rainy and windy that it was hard to get things going on offense. I found it hilarious that Randy Moss dropped like 43 passes. My favorite drop of his came when Ken Hamlin knocked the shit out of him as he was bobbling the ball. All of these big name receivers like Moss, TO, and Chad Johnson keep on bitching about not getting the ball, but they keep on fucking dropping them!

It will be interesting to see how Parcells handles T.O. these next couple of weeks. I'm telling you the Dallas owner has things all screwed up. If Seattle can hang in there and heal from all the injuries, you guys could make the playoffs. There are a shitload of 4-4 teams who still control their own fate. It seems like everyone in this thread has very non-hateable teams. I will have no problem rooting for yours if the Saints get knocked out.

Yeah, Moss played awful. I'm glad Seattle won though, even though I'm a Raiders fan. The "knee incident" was a complete load of shit. The Raiders are worse now than I have ever seen them.

Oh the Raiders are basically the worst team in the league. I won my pro-line this sunday, the last pick was down to the colts to win it against the pats, what a pick. They won me $246, now its time for an ebay album buying spree, fuck yeah.

Nice! The only time I bet on the internet on sports was for fun and no money was involved. I ended up winning the NCAA college basketball bracket and got no money.

I just read in the paper that Alexander will be out for another week. He was initially expected back already, but he hasn't fully healed yet. That will be 6 games he's missed!

Alright this thread has fallen too far down the page! Time for this week's picks:

Falcons, Chiefs, Vikings, Patriots, Eagles, Jaguars, Bengals, Lions, Ravens, Colts, Broncos, Cowboys, Saints, Seahawks, Giants, Panthers

For some reason, I think the Chargers looked weaker last week, despite what all of ESPN thinks. Tomlinson is fabulous, but their D isn't. Plus, the Bengals are at home...but that should be a fine game. The Steelers are tougher than their record states, so the Saints might struggle with them especially in shitty weather in a shitty part of a shitty town...but I can't bet against my boys...hopefully they'll pull through. Finally the Giants - Bears game should be excellent...if not the best game all week. I love Sunday night games!

So what do you think boys?

I really hope the Panthers have gotten it together, we need this win. I'm sick of this "unsureness" about whether or not we're a good team.

It's all about the injuries in your case. If you were healthy I'd say you'd be the NFC version of the Patriots...not the most outstanding athletes but a good team that can get it together and win in the playoffs. Unfortunately, home field advantage plays a pretty big role in the playoffs and that's something you might not be looking at this season if you even make it.

Well, I was going to explain my picks like I did last time, but after looking at the games this week, I think it's pretty obvious who will win.

Ravens vs Titans
uhhh, the Titans suck and the Ravens don't. The Ravens will CRUSH the Titans.

Bills vs Colts
The Colts will CRUSH the Bills.

Browns vs Falcons
I hope the Falcons will lose, but the Browns suck so they won't.

Packers vs Vikings
The Vikings have been doing better than I thought they would this year, but the Packers have some players coming back from injuries. I still think that the Viking will win because the Packers are too inconsistant.

Texans vs Jaguars
Well, the Texans fucking suck and the Jags are slightly healthier this week, so I say that the Jags will win this one. I also predict that Leftwich won't start.

Chiefs vs Dolphins
The Dolphins beat the Bears last week, but I don't think they will beat the Chiefs. They beat the Bears because the Bears played badly, not because they are better. Damon Huard is doing very well this season and so is Larry Johnson. This might be a close game, but I predict that the Chiefs will win.

Jets vs Patriots
I don't like them, but I gotta go with the Patriots. For some reason I have a feeling that this will be a close game, but I don't think anyone really expects the Jets to beat the Patriots. They won't be able to stop the Pats running game.

San Francisco Jose 49ers vs Lions
The 49ers just might be the worst team in the NFL. The Lions will beat them fairly easily.

Redskins vs Eagles
The 'Skins aren't doing as well as I thought they would this year, mostly due to injuries to key players, and I really don't know who will win this game. I'll play it safe and say that the Eagles will win.

Chargers vs Bengals
Chad Johnson is a little fairy and he will cry again when his team loses on Sunday.

Broncos vs Raiders
gee...I wonder...

Cowboys vs Cardinals
I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals upset the Cowboys, but I bet Bill Parcell gave his team a swift kick to the nuts after their loss last week and I'm expecting to see a more inspired Cowboys team on Sunday.

Saints vs Steelers
The Steelers fucking suck and they really have no reason to win anymore this year. Saints win.

Rams vs Seahawks
hmm, well we are playing at home and we always win at home, but I just don't see our backups outperforming the Rams. Damn...I'm going against my team. I hope they win, of course, but I just don't see it happening. Maurice Morris fucking sucks and is hurting our team by not being able to break any tackles.

Bears vs Giants
I don't see the Bears losing two games in a row.

Bucs vs Panthers
The Bucs fucking suck this year and the Panthers don't. I see the Panthers winning fairly easily on Monday.

I'm predicting at least 50% of my picks are correct...maybe even more.

@Konrad- haha...Worthlessfaggot...I like that name

I'm happy the Browns beat the Falcons and the Jets upset the Patriots

The Chargers/Bengals game was probably my favorite game so far today, besides the Seahawks game of course. There were a bunch of big plays and it was a high scoring game. The Chargers were down 21-0 at one point, but they came back to win the game.

oh, and Tom Ashworth is #1 on my shitlist now. He's an ex-Patriot who is now one of our offensive linemen and he's worthless as fuck.

Yes, there were plenty of upsets today...and plenty of good, close games. Hopefully, the Bears lose again tonight. They have the best NFC record...they need to lose.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have nothing against the Bears, but they are a threat and they have a good record, so they need to lose. Sorry Winter Death

Well, I am happy the Bears won. I think I know why they won too: I sang the fight song numerous times during the game and those positive vibes carried all the way to New York to energize the Bears. This can be the only explanation.

Fucking around aside, I really enjoyed the game. It wasn't too one sided one way or another.

Some other notes:

I am pissed that the Saints lost.
I am ready for the Colts to start losing.
Are the Lions now the worst team in the NFL?
I am happy that the Pack won.
New England can suck a nut.

I wasn't thinking much about the Bears game until I saw that awesome botched field goal, where Feeley's kick was too short and the Bear's kick returner caught it and ran it for the league's longest touchdown. That was pretty awesome.

Well, I got 7 out of 15 correct so far, let's see what happens tomorrow.

Yeah that was such a cool moment in the game. That play tied the record for the longest play ever in the NFL set by the Bears last season. It was also cool how Hester faked everyone out by looking like he wasn't even going to run the damn ball. The gamble payed off to say the least.

Yes, he played for Suncoast High-School as a Tailback, and I played for Cardinal Newman High-School as a Tight-End. We also both played on special teams. We beat them back in 2001, my Junior - his senior year. He was the fastest person I have ever played against. It's been cool seeing him play for UM and now in the pros.
