Nice video man! lol their costumes are kinda lame though; they look like they just finished a game of Dungeons and Dragons in their parents' basement, and Messiah looks like that one big guy from The Princess Bride.

Therion is simply awesome. Nobody can deny that Christofer Johnsson is a kind of god or something else!
I saw them this year for first time, and was a concert that I'll never forget.
About Lemuria and Sirius B, just master-pieces!!!

i think i said this again, but The Blood of Kingu is one of my favourite songs ever. the way it goes from that INCREDIBLY EPIC intro to the absolutely thrashing riff is simply amazing!

Yes, that's also one of my favorite Therion songs!! The symphonic piece at the beginning is great

yeah man.. too bad it's symphonic fluff after that. do you know other songs with something like that MONSTROUS transition between extreme epicness and chainsaw riff? the closest thing i know is Iced Earth- Angel's Holocaust(the middle), but it's not as awesome.

@Valentin B: Not offhand though...and I really don't like Iced Earth...um, Therion's new album I'm not that into either...I didn't really find anything to memorable off of that...arguably though, someone could post a retort and tell me what songs I should really go back and listen to from the new double-album if they want to...

Haven't really bothered listening the whole album (don't think it would be my thing), but I really love the atmosphere in "Der Mitternachtslöwe".

Ahh glad to see your Hellfest purchase was worth it! (unless I am mistaken I saw you with it lol). I still don't love the albums yet, but I do put them on alot while I'm busy around the house or reading, so I do enjoy them a bit

I start to enjoy Therion more and more. Even the so-called bad Lemuria and Sirius B I enjoy. except for Gothic Kabbalah, it is very average and there are unfortunally quite some bad and boring songs on it.

That album recently grew on me. The choirs are really relaxing.
I still think they should be called choir metal instead of symphonic metal, but whatever.

Imo it would be the best if they were called Opera metal!

the second one was much more similar to what i'm looking for but still not really that.. if they skipped to the verse riff, it could have been as awesome
but i'm not a fan of such music, ESPECIALLY the vocals. fuck!

yeah nice transition, Judas Priest's Dawn of Creation/Prophecy is also a great example of something like this, a huge epic orchestral build-up which explodes into the main song, though Prophecy is way slower than Kingu.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4l26XO7o2Sc if the intro was done with an orchestra or something it would have been the best example of what i was talking about
