Dutch metallers Obsidian have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"We are proud and very excited to inform you that we have inked a deal with Candlelight Records for our upcoming album!

The new album will be released early in 2010 and it will contain 9 new brutal and grooving tracks, revealing a more evolved Obsidian. Also it will feature beautiful artwork by Robbe K.

Their previous album, Emerging, was self-released in 2006 (and it was indeed re-released in 2007 via Rusty Cage Records).

More or less. But the 2007 Rusty Cage version had a different vocalist on it (Robbe K.)

Great news. These guys really deserve a label such as Candlelight, not dismissing what Rusty Cage did for them though. But a label such as Candlelight offers them so much more opportunities, and tbh these guys really deserve it.

Thanks for the info guys.

Not too hard on my part since I reviewed the album, and also knwo the drummer quite well, or at least have spoken to Melle more than a couple of times.
