It's interesting to find out "who" claimed Tiamat - A Deep Kind Of Slumber is a Rexo-gothic album !
Definitely I don't bother his comments on "Convulse's World without god" anymore...or even anything from him in the future.

You still don't understand even when I explain it to you. He called that album "relaxo-gothic" just to show you how ridiculous it was to tag an album by going for the atmosphere it creates. He was making fun of you for calling it dark ambient when it's clearly not dark ambient musically. I could tag this album "Mean Metal" following your logic. Do you finally get it? Can you now stop talking about Tiamat?

You're free to have whatever opinion on any album, just stop commenting on things you don't understand, genres you don't know, or inventing facts to sound interesting. </offtopic>

In other words, even as someone who's never been very keen on on OSDM, I have to say this album slays.

OMG How can someone call this overrated? It's holy fucking BALLZ....

BTW. Listen to the original version. Since the remastered one it's pure crap. Dirty sound fits greatly with this obscure album.

Albums like this generally benefit from remasters, this is no exception since the original production sucked (as typical with most early death metal albums).

In this case the original production is what made the album sooooooo obscure and excellent. The remastered version took that and made it sound just like a decent album.

I agree that remasters benefit some albums like Human or ITP, but not in this.

One of the gems of old death metal. Production on the original is awesome! It's very varied and nuanced for being so early in time. Unfortunately, their following albums are downright boring.

Halfway through I was tempted to turn it off. There isn't much to differentiate the songs from each other. The sound is indeed good but IMO it deeply lacks variety. Luckily I did not stop listening, the second half is much better.

I have to agree with the commenters before, the non-remaster's sound is indeed superior.

This album takes me back to the time I did my military bullshit and spent my salary on metal records. World Without God is as generic as early 90's Scandinavian death metal gets, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, since at the time the standards were so high to begin with.

It's fine but doesn't really blow me away. Sounds fairly standard.

I enjoyed the production and the spaced-out guitars here and there. Wished they used that more often for a more unique sound. Overall pretty good OSDM but not mandatory listening.

This is quiet enjoyable OSDM. Sounds dirty and evil. And unfortunately it gets really monotonous after few songs. But I think it deserves a listen for a fans of that style.
