Brutal death metal no doubt, it's so technical and stupid

I voted deathcore. I think the only thing I like from the genre is maybe Ion Dissoance, and Kamikabe (though its on the fence). I mean, I feel like its much worse than any other genre in terms of quantity/quality. I'm the type of person that if I don't like something, I automatically forget it so I really can't think of any real standout bands, whereas with the other genres I can easily name some gems. I think the biggest thing for me was going to a deathcore festival because I was bored... it was so bad, I mean there was some big names up there and I thought it was really awful. Yeah, you have stereotypes of fans and that's what people focus on but, trying to be objective about the bands playing they were all just clone of each other, and my biggest surprise was how people knew the lyrics to the music being played. Big props, seriously. I mean, if you like the genre, that's fine... I just can't do it.

Post-metal - the closest I've come to liking is Fever Sea, and they're more black than post. Everything else has been varying degrees of awful. Stoner is a close follow-up.

What even defines 'Alternative Metal?' I thought that was just a nicer name for nu metal.

I can understand that a bit, there's only like 2-3 thrash bands i really enjoy, and even that its usually only a handful of songs.

Mm, exactly. It is not that I don't respect it, cuz I really do, it's just that thrash isn't my stuff.

Grindcore, Brutal Death, Raw Black Metal... It's not that I hate them, just can't listen, too extreme for me.

Stoner, Blackmetal, Grindcore, Brutal Death, and all that the band who use a logo that unreadable...

Suicidal/depressive black. I like my music melancholic, not maniacally depressive. In a lesser way thrash. I like Kreator and a few bands, but most of them sound incredibly boring, generic and all the same. At least the new wave that is all hot right now, Gama Bomb, Warbringer etc...

Metalcore. Some of my friends listen to his shit and they say it's heavy. Especially after the new BFMV album things have become worse. I also hate Deathcore because of it's high level of shittiness.

NU-METAL sucks ass, accept for Slipknot. They may be mainstream but I really don;'t they are sellouts and they are awesome live.

Bring Me The Horizon, Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, any of that little bunny-ass shitty metal needs to get the fuck out.

Brutal death metal (by that I mean slam death crap, not techdeath) is the worst, it's just ugly meaningless noise. At least pornogrind is funny, slam death just sucks. The bad end of deathcore also fits in this category, though some deathcore sucks less.

Wow, Wow, Thrash fans are not all Haterz you know. You have the right to like whatever type of music you want, seriously, and if people judge you for it, then fuck 'em. You can despise Thrash without having to worry here, it's Metal Storm, not some other Tr00 Nazi website.

I get that Thrash is not for everyone... aren't you glad there's a Metal genre for everyone.

I wouldn't say I despise it but, I'm not a big fan of Black Metal and Grindcore
Don't get me wrong, there's some exceptions (Carcass, Cephalic Carnage, Absu, Aura Noir ...)
It's just not among my favorites
Also I'm not a big Deathcore fan either.

When I said I never heard, I meant it in a way that I don't even know what genre they play.

You don't have to know The Clash or Westlife to get the joke since it's more context-based.

But I think that's enough off-topic commenting for now.

Basically any metal genre has its gems... But everyone definitely have their favorites and the despised ones. For me goregrind is an odd genre but I understand slam death metal (maybe not actually an independent genre) the least. It's just somehow uninspiring, boring and overall sounds kinda retarded.

Other than that deathcore is flooded by pointless Suicide Silence type of "br00tal breakdown" bands but some, like Veil of Maya and Born of Osiris sound actually pretty decent to me. And glam metal... bands like Poison are an absolute disgrace to rock in general, but some artists are more tolerable. I did never get why women even liked these guys Fashion is pretty damn odd to say the least with both deathcore and glam. Other genres are mostly all OK to me.
