Revolution Renaissance - New Album Title, New Keyboard Player

Timo Tolkki's Revolution Renaissance has set Trinity as the title of its forthcoming third album, tentatively due in the fall via Napalm Records. The album, engineered by Santtu Lehtiniemi, follows a more "power metal" direction than its predecessor Age Of Aquarius. The vocals and the drums ? which are being handled by Revolution Renaissance's Brazilian contingent, consisting of Gus Monsanto and Bruno Agra, respectively ? were recorded in Brazil. According to Tolkki, the new CD will sound "very organic and natural, but also very modern."

In other news, Revolution Renaissance has tapped Firewind's Bob Katsionis (ex-Nightfall) as its new keyboardist.

In October 2009 the band parted ways with bassist Justin Biggs and keyboardist Michael Khalilov because it "became evident to everybody that Revolution Renaissance was not the right band for the guys," Timo Tolkki said in a statement. "Justin is more of a thrash guy and Mike expected the music to be something totally different. Out of these reasons the decision has been made that it is better to go separate ways." Magnus Rosén (ex-HammerFall, ex-Jorn) joined the band a few weeks afterwards.

After the last album I'm not sure if I give a shit about Timo Tolkki anymore. He always says the next album will be like Visions or a return to power metal and we keep being let down.

Pretty true statement..

Katsionis in Revolution Renaissance, now the band has 2 fucked up guys.

So, what exactly makes the guy screwed up? I don't know many personal details about this guy, I just know that he is in Firewind.

I hope with this new album this band features AT LAST some quality metal, because NEW ERA neither AGE OF AQUARIUS were worth of keep in my listening queue anymore...

"New Era" was below average and "Age Of Aquarius" was abysmal, so most likely the next album will suck, though I can hardly imagine how it could be worse than AOA (which was utter crap).

As for Tolkki's words, who cares? The guy is crazy and lost credibility long ago.
Also, I find it ridiculous that half the band members are in Europe, while the others are in South America. How can you truly be a band and have chemistry in such conditions?

I thought you already got over bashing PM

New Era was good and AoA great (yet I do understand if people don't like it)
Yet there was a good reason for that album to be as it was and the next one will be different for sure and it has already said to be more power metal.
