Darkwater

Just found out Darkwater doesn't have a topic in the melodic metal forum just for them. I think they deserve it even though they are relatively unknown to some people.

They released two albums so far, "Calling The Earth To Witness" in 2007 and "Where Stories End" in 2010. What do you think about the albums? And the band?

I've got both albums and they're both great. Very nice dark, looming atmosphere, vocal hooks and riffs.

I absolutely love this band! One of my new faves! I love the fact that they dont try to get extreme or too technical. Just GOOD. I guess its hard for these young new "critics" to be entertained. Check out Marcus' other band, 7 Days. Its a little different, but love his guitar sound.

Well, I'm a big fan of Darkwater, so I understand what you are saying in a way.

I didn't know his other band though, I'll look into it.

I'm glad some people are looking into their music and enjoying it. But they seem to be in the shadows for the most part.

He has three bands, also including Harmony - which is basically all of Darkwater playing a different style. Big, prolific names often lead you to awesome new bands.

I love both Darkwater and 7 Days; surely i love Darkwater more - Darkwater's last album was one of the best releases of 2010 for me.

All of the three bands that Marcus is in are excellent. I discovered them through a brilliant debut that was Harmony's Dreaming Awake. I like Darkwater and Harmony, but what they came up with on the latest 7 Days album is just phenomenal. Markus is a genius of melodic progressive metal, no doubt now!
