Skogen, another Swedish black metal band signed to Frostscald Records, released their debut back in 2009 without much of a bang. Having been described as a "more relaxed cross between Primordial and Moonsorrow", you'd think they'd have more of a following.

I'm not sure how much they have progressed musically from their last release, but this album is pretty damn good. Well done Pagan Black Metal. Nothing new at all but definitely worth listening to.

Some damm good atmostspheric black metal! If this album had better production it would prolly be one of my fav black albums but as it is the production drags it down notably. still good stuff tho.

i heard Skogen posting on FB that they will have better production on the next album so i am looking forward to that!

Well performed, interesting (in a somewhat saturated genre) and with some nice variety between up-tempo agression, mid-tempo wintery melancholy and full-on acoustic fiddling make this a very pleasing record.
