There's improvements, and then there's astronomical improvements. Think of it this way; Breathing The Fire was a damn solid album, that is, it was, until Forever Abomination decided to strut right up, undo it's belt, drop it's pants and pinch off a triple-coiler all over everything Skeletonwitch has done to date.

Alright kiddies, go throw out your copies of Breathing The Fire. You won't need them anymore.

This renders 90% of the other thrash albums released this year unnecessary.

This album is just so awesome! It's amazing how many cool riffs, different (and seemingly hard to reconcile) styles of playing, as well as vocals are packed into this album, hell even into each song! This has been a go-to for me lately when I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, a distinction which used to go to Immortal - At the Heart of Winter, and I can see some comparisons there. The more 'Black Metal' moments are some of my favorites (Erased and Forgotten) and that style of vocals has never been so infectious before.

But let's forget about all the genre labels here, that takes away from the enjoyment of a really cool, really catchy, original album!

I find it fast and nice, a tipica leasy black/thrash. Maybe it can foreseeable and a bit ripetitive during the listenings

I dont get what some people dont like about this album. it's fast ,somewhat catchy and melodic , the vocals are well-executed what's not to like about it?
the only thing I reject about it- is that it's often called black thrash which is just plain wrong because the only black metal elements on this album are the vocals.when someone mentions black thrash or thrashy black I think of Immortal which is just much more black than Skeletowitch.

People who call this album black-thrash metal have no idea how black-thrash bands sound like.

This is plain cheesy modern melodic death metal.

you heard it from the kvlt himself.

This is really great, it's not the best of the genre (at all) but it's still really good, and a major step up for Skeletonwitch, considering how boring their other albums got after one listen through.

Whoever said this was cheesy glam watchamacallit...no. This album is very very good, but not mind blowing awesome. Great production, great thrashy deathy sound and just a kick ass fast paced ride of evil metally goodness. Gripes include very short songs and album in general. I really think this album deserves something like an 8.5 thus why I gave it a 9 to nudge it forward. on a scale of 5: /5

I popped this album back in the CD player this week and I noticed something that didn't really hit me when I was spinning this when it was released. The vocals sound really muffled in the mix. It feels like there is no attack in the vocal delivery. I wonder if it is the way the album was mixed?

This is a truly great band with an exceptional discogrophy. As usual an excellent record, it has a tremendous flow with lot's of aggressive energy ane a ton of speed, with great riffs. As a whole it works brilliantly, but it just lacked those individual stand out tracks.
