Rating in words: appropriately nostalgic, suitable for rocking out in a ridiculous fashion.

Steelwing, Steelwing, how happy you make me. They were one of the supporting bands on a Sabaton tour in late 2010 which had Belgrade as one of the dates, and friends of mine who went to the show have spent a good chunk of 2011 trying to persuade me to check them out. And I stubbornly ignored their suggestions for some stupid reason. When I finally gave a listen to Steelwing's debut, I thought: "This type of decent band usually screws up on the second album and fades into obscurity, never to issue anything good again."

This is a very nice album, a step up from their debut.

Listen to the solo on the track "running man". Sounds a lot like Maiden's "Sign of the cross" riff. Or is it just me? LOL

EDIT: Solo's @ 2:40

They certainly do play Maiden stuff, but speed it up. Live it was even more apparent than on album

That's awesome. I'll definitely have to check these guys out if they ever come to NorCal.

Saw them twice in two weeks here. First time the line up was Steelwing, Skull FIst, Vanderbuyst, Bullet, Grand Magus. And the second time it was Steelwing, Skull Fist, Vanderbuyst, and let me guarantee you all three are live bands, especially Vanderbuyst.

Is it wrong that 2097 AD (Extended Cut) may be my favorite song? It's so deliciously '80s John Carpenter.

If you ever have a chance to see them live please do, there they are even more fun.

Ya I know that, mah buddies saw them supporting Sabaton and they couldn't shut up about it ever since... well, I'm not too bummed for missing out on that, since I hate Sabaton

Sabaton are totally horribly terrible. Most plastic of pop power metal bands arounds.

Thanks God I got to see Steelwing with fitting bands such as SkullFist, Vanderbuyst, Bullet (even though I find them boring) and Grand Magus

I get the appeal of Sabaton for some people but I've only heard a couple of nice songs by them and my friends made me listen to most of the albums so ya, boring as fuck.
Mmm, I definitely hope to see Steelwing on a nice show like that... I can see myself jumping around and screamin' TOKKOTAI! TOKKOTAAAAAI! SAYONARA THIS IS GOODBYYYYEEEE! and straining my neck too much for the next band actually, I hope for more goddamn shows... I see one bigger show per year if I'm lucky, that's just gotta change.

I'm always up for some 80's resurgence albums, but this is pretty average. I like White Wizzard, Enforcer, Skullfist, ect., and recently RAM, but this just does nothing for me.

Is it just me or does the singer sound like what you would get if you mixed Di'Anno and Dickinson?

Ditto that. I initially rated an 8, however that was a couple of weeks and a whole lot of listens ago.
