Akercocke - Rape Of The Bastard Nazarene

An album that still shows akercocke's talent as a band, but in general the whole thing seems scattered and incomplete (I have the bonus tracks, so some versions may just be the 9-track original), making it seem less like a flow and more like a disrupted piece of music. Nonetheless, it sounds completely and utterly ungodly in itself, and few would argue that opener 'Hell' isn't anything short of one of akercocke's best songs.

At times brilliant but too inconsistent to be anything other than slightly above average
