It surprised me how heavy the guitar tone is when the ferocious riffage of opener 'A self-made man' kicked in. The rest of the album has a more bluesy approach, as does the band's latter releases, but i would say this is their best offering post-80's.

I'm pretty close to saying this is good an album, and the is mainly two reasons for that. And those are the first and the last song. "Dreaming Of Summer" is a great song and while "A Self-Made Man" is not quite as good, its choruses are the best thing on this album IMO. Personally I'm not the biggest Michael Schenker fan, and this album is a good example why: his playing (and songwriting?) is often repetitive and it's predictable on many of the songs. Like I said at the beginning, it's close to good an album, yet I'm going for average because the overall impression I get from the songs is so-so.
