When was the last time you actually expected a collaborative undertaking to live up to expectations without deluding yourself?

Is this any good?

It's a lot better than good.

Any Idea where I can get it?

Email info@sepulchralproductions.com to see if they still have any copies left. They're a Canadian label (based in Quebec) and I've ordered from them before - you should see your CD within a week. 13 bucks - not a bad deal at all.

Thanks a bunch, just need to sell some pop at school, and this baby is mine, do you know if this is a limited number release? (I'm assuming so, due to you sayig "if they have any copies left")

...do you know if this is a limited number release?

Pretty much every Sepulchral release is limited to 1000 copies, if not fewer.

Cool, it will be my first limited release.

I just checked and they have it listed as a digipak?

Is that like, a digital album or...?

Is that like, a digital album or...?

A digipak is the CD in a cardboard sleeve, not a jewel case. In my opinion a much better medium - especially for shipping, as it weighs less than a jewel case and they aren't as easy to break. But you can't replace the material if you damage it.

In any case, I might actually review this. I wanted to way back when but it wasn't on the site (before I was Staff) and by the time I was promoted it had been two years since the album was released. I'll try to find the time...

Another excellent Canadian project. But looking at the line-up was to be expected. Great sounds, amazing atmosphere, a good quality of production. And what is perhaps most important for me, this is not a copy of Gris or Sombres Forêts, a completely new quality here. Fantastic.

BTW. Forteresse, Sombres Forêts, Gris, Sorcier Des Glaces, Neige Et Noirceur.. Quebec must be a beautiful, though very sad region.

When I had first heard of this collab I couldn't wait to hear it. If it sounded like Gris and Sombres Forêts then I'd be happy, but it ended up sounding completely different than anything either of those groups released previously.

As for Quebec... it depends. Rural Quebec is beautiful - especially in the spring - and Montreal is probably the liveliest city in Canada (although Torontonians won't admit it), but there is an inherent depressive undertone to the province which is likely due to the cultural and linguistic segregation born out of English bigotry. That sort of folkloric sorrow is why I never liked how these bands are dumped into the depressive/suicidal black metal bands, because their grief comes from a totally separate source.
