Visions Of Atlantis is usually lumped in with the "female-fronted symphonic metal" bands, not-so-affectionately known sometimes as "corset-core." I think that term is hilarious but in this particular case it might be a misnomer.

Lean more to melodic metal and surely not the same as Visions of Atlantis previous work. Less operatic (it's clean singing now). But lots of keyboard moments in this album. Something 7.5/10 for me.

Very mediocre first listen. The vocals are very average throughout, but the music isn't too bad though, with nice keyboard melodic and 'I think' a violin added there too. Not their worst or the worst, but definitely could have been better.

To everyone who gave up in the first listen, all I can say is: Give the album a couple more spins. It will grow on you. I guarantee.

As for the album, I'm not disappointed. I like Maxi vocals. I think she has a really serene voice. It just works for me.

Visions of Atlantis never created any -out of this world- song, it's not what they do, but I think they have always delivered very nice albums. Good enough for making me always want to wait for the next one.

You might not like the album as much as me, but giving it a '1' rate is just disrespectful to their work.
