Krokus - Guitarist Mandy Meyer Returns To The Band
Guitarist Mandy Meyer has officially rejoined Krokus. In the last couple of months, Mandy secretly recorded with the rest of the band their forthcoming new album Dirty Dynamite, which is scheduled to be released at the end of February, 2013.
The band released this statement: "Let us re-introduce to you the newest band member of the current line-up: he is one of the best guitarists Switzerland has produced over the years. He lived for almost a decade in the USA and played there with many superstars, amongst others with Asia (recorded with them the album Astra). 30 years after his departure from Krokus Mandy rejoins the most successful line-up again."
Founder Chris Von Rohr and Fernando Von Arb are thrilled to have him back. Adds Fernando: "Now the Krokus family is complete again".
Mandy left Krokus and moved at the age of 22 years old to Los Angeles to pursue his musical dreams. In the mid-nineties Mandy moved back to Switzerland and joined Gotthard, another successful Swiss band. In 2004, he left that band and concentrated on his solo career. Between 2005 and 2007 he toured with Krokus in support of the Hellraiser album, which he recorded and contributed to.
Towards the end of 2011, Chris Von Rohr approached Mandy and asked him whether he would be game to play a couple of shows in Japan. Recalls Mandy: "I agreed in a New York minute".
Marc Storace beams: "The collaboration with Mandy conclusively convinced us to complete our five-piece band by inviting him officially as our third guitarist. You never heard Krokus as powerful as on this new album!"
