"The wolf changes its fur, but not its nature, sir."

Fan of Mogwai? Or maybe of Electric Wizard? Here, you get to enjoy the best of both worlds; meaning members from both bands are contributors to the project Crippled Black Phoenix.

I, Vigilante kicks off with "Troublemaker" at a cool pace. It's a song ripe for any prog-head including synthesizers, some strings, some dreamy vocals...and a shifty, up-tempo, ass-kicking slide guitar solo. Yep. But wait, prog? How can this be? THERE'S NO SLIDE GUITAR IN PROG.

Bastogne Blues is possible the best song ever. It's ridiculously bleak, but beautiful and epic all at once.

The rest of the album ain't shabby either, though the 2 covers do seem slightly out of place.

This video... wow... I know the video wasn't created by the band, but this is absolutely beautiful and well worth a watch.

The last 3 minutes of "Bastogne Blues" sounds like the end of the world.

Nah, it sounds to me like the ending of Kenseiden

Not one my favorite CBP albums, but still pretty good one. From these songs I've always thought 'Of A Lifetime' to be the highlight, even if it's a cover song.

Such a fantastic album this full of great moments. "We Forgotten Who We Are" and "Fantastic Justice" are just incredibly good songs, the way the Instrumentation builds up is jaw dropping!
