Moss - New Track Streaming Online, European Tour Dates Announced

UK drone doom act Moss is streaming the title track "Horrible Nights", from the band's upcoming third full length album. The album is scheduled for release via Rise Above Records on March 25th (Europe) and April 2nd, 2013 (North America) via Metal Blade Records. It was recorded during the summer and autumn of 2012 at Hampshire's Earth Terminal and London's Earthworks studios.

Moss have also confirmed a set of European tour dates together with Witchsorrow, which are scheduled for April/May this year. Check them out below.

The band comments on the album: "We wanted to write something that would stand up over time?no disrespect to our earlier recordings - we feel the essence and atmosphere of those is still very much with us, but they were of a time and place that we're no longer part of."

Well Moss were never really properly drone, and this song is anything but. Quite different from anything I've heard from them before with those clean vocals on the first half or so but very good nonetheless.

I usually saw them as some sort of extreme sludge (in the same sense Khanate can be seen as extreme sludge and not drone).

Yeah same. They certainly have drone moments but I would have put them as extreme sludge. This song though sounds much more doomy than sludge though.
