Kalmah are one of the biggest names in Finnish extreme power/melodic death metal and are a well-established group by now; time and again they have put out consistently high quality albums which are usually thematically centered on all things swampy. They are back in 2013 with Seventh Swamphony... and let's just say the swamp kings are, without a doubt, in fine form.

I love extreme power metal so much and struggle to find great releases... This is so good, for me, and the best Kalmah yet!

Awesome energy on this record. I'd say their latest is one of this year's highlights for me!

Wow yeah! Super surprised. Possibly my favorite by them.

I hear ya man, really awesome.. : ) This and For The Revolution are my definite favs. The new keyboardist adds some great stuff, love it. Though to be sure, I went back and listened to the keyboard solo on "Sacramentum". Awesome. Some of these lyrics are just so well fitting and hilarious, you have to love it. Hollo, the semi-ballad is pretty funny and gloomy, and then ends with an up-rise. "Hollo", "Ready for Salvation", and "Sacramentum" are easily becoming my favorites by this band, which is funny because they are very much the opposite from what originally got me hooked on the band; the early speedy stuff like Hades etc. Really glad to see Kalmah carving out their original style after all these years. Makes this guy teary-eyed.

Seventh Swamphony (the track) is the worst of the entire album, so don't get disappointed and keep on listening

I don't like the new keyboardist... He overcommits during the whole album. Guitars are still as awesome as always.

I thought they got him in pretty seamlessly. The keyboards are rarely too prominent in the mix and certainly don't detract from the sound, IMO. Agreed on the guitar work though. really good stuff.

I think I prefer 12 gauge over this one, but it's still a great album nevertheless. The Trapper is a truly amazing song

One of the most interesting Kalmah releases in my book. The bands seems to be trying some new ideas here and IMO they do it successfully. "Hollo" is a good example of this, easily it's one of the new favorite tracks.

Black Marten's Trace is one of the best songs they've ever recorded. As for the album, it's good... I'm just wondering when they will put out anything new.

Good album but it sounds sort of the same as their previous albums. I am not able to find these huge differences that people are talking about.
