Whenever I'm asked for an example of heavy metal undiluted by sub-genres, I would raise the name Armored Saint. Straight down the middle hard-hitting heavy metal that just wants to get up and rock. Raising Fear is the third album by the band, who are probably one of the most criminally underrated bands in the genre. A solid album that will go a long way in converting anyone who gets to hear its tunes.

At a time when so many metal gods' - even Priest - were rocking the hairspray and trying their utmost to clone Motley Crue and Poison, Armored Saint kept it real with some unabashed, proper heavy metal. This was the first record I bought by them so I have a massive soft spot for it.

It contains some of my favourite Saint tracks, like 'Chemical Euphoria' & 'Book Of Blood'; needless to say, it still sounds fucking sweet.

Subverting society with a magic touch
Well I refuse to engage"

IMHO the whole album is average to good. No real highlights but no bad songs either.
