I'm listening to this album right now and I was thinking the same thing. Metalheads are a fickle lot.

I went in with 0 expectation on this, but this is probably the best Kiss album! Progressive and innovative. I really like it.

Completely agree with you guys, by far one of their albums. Musically is clearly superior than their most of their records and is so different than the typical Kiss sound. And since the typical Kiss sound sucks this album even stands out more ...

Amazing album. A must-have for everyone who loves music. I can't believe that this record doesn't have a 9/10 rating. Obviously, the majority of Kiss's fans understand songs like ....lick it up, only.

By Kiss standards this is actually a interesting listen, a quite awkward also. None of the Kiss members had a writing pen for prog rock and they truly took water over their heads. The album has it's moments but listening cover to cover it's not that good. This is no Grand Illusion but I can appreciate that they tried at least.
