Tommy Victor has been around the block a few times. Ever since 1986 he has piloted the industrial thrash band Prong, played with mega-musicians Rob Zombie and Glen Danzig and even had a death wish making records and touring with Al Jourgensen and Ministry.

I was expecting more Industrial, and less Metal, but it all sounds great. I really wanted to hear something a little more original, but it's fast, catchy, and invigorating music. Love how clear everything sounds, but then, I might have liked a little more industrial filth, some chemical waste, to sexy all this up .

More and more I'm finding MS labelling is not something to be relied on. To be fair Metal Archives does it better.

I've got to check this album out. Loved the last one and this one sounds promising.

Don't get me wrong, there are still industrial elements in there. This is my first encounter with prong, hence the false expectations.

Considering the fact MS is not supposed to be just a database, I don't mind incorrect labels. I think they are few, and the forums are here for us to debate about it. I should listen to more Prong to be able to tell if the "industrial" label is correct.

This new Prong is clearly Industrial Thrash. I really don
t hear any crossover or groove in this one unlike on their much earlier works. Hell Prong started out as a crossover thrash band

This new Prong is clearly Industrial Thrash.

That I agree with.

I haven't listened to Prong since Cleansing, which is the point they were starting to lose me. I'm an industrial and metal fan both, and enjoy the crossover of the genres, but I felt like the songwriting was declining as more clangs and beeps and bloops were being added. Prove You Wrong and Beg to Differ were the albums I loved back in the day.

I can't say this is entirely similar to those early records (a band's gotta grow after all), but I really like this direction, and think they are ultimately better when the metal/industrial pendulum swings decidedly in the metal direction. There are a ton of great hooks in these songs too. That's not going to be for everyone, but it totally works on me.

Great stuff! Glad I found Prong again after 20 years.

It'a a good album, but definately not one of my favorites from Prong. But I can happily say I'm still a fan.

While i did enjoy Carved in Stone more, Ruining Lives is a solid release as well, 7.5/10 from me.
