I'd thank Nefarious, but I learned about this band a long time ago by a certain user named MechanisT.
At first, I thought it was spectacular. Then it became a little boring with repeated listens. But when I heard it again today, parts of it really stood out again.

Well I've had this album on my end-long list for a few weeks now, and there are three others I've ranked above it that are definitely worth checking out. Gazpacho produced their best album yet, Random one-upped their debut and Stoic Dissention released a great dissonant black/funeral album worthy of way more recognition than it is currently receiving. This is not to diminish Serdce's effort; if the vocals were slightly more interesting in sections, I'm sure I would rate Timelessness higher.

But Gazpacho isn't metal so still Serdce album is in your top3 of METAL albums released this year

For some reason, this album gives me a vibe of "Odyssey-era Symphony X meets Train Of Thought-era Dream Theater meets Focus-era Cynic".
Overall, it's pretty solid!

A bloody damn impressive listen.
The promo blurb on Bandcamp (" it's a perfect mixture of the best of 90's progressive death metal -- classics in the genre, such as Cynic "Focus" and "Traced in Air," along with early Pestilence, Atheist, and Dream Theater -- updated for a new sound and new audience.") is quite spot on.

How "Quasar" leads into "Newborn" is nothing short of magical. Goosebumps every time.

Eclectic syle and inspirations. The lyrics present some interesting imagery, and seem to always thread in-between abstract existentialism to more concrete, almost outwardly political commentary. The shifts in tone and pace are never too abrupt or unnerving, but rather hold your attention for the entire duration of the album.
I should keep an eye on these guys, because they seem headed for an interesting direction.

This album is an outburst of technicality and creativity. More importantly, it shows the "eclectic" musical diversity that a prog-based metal band can offer. Some metal albums also adopt and display varied and different styles of music to show off their ingenious musicality, but it is not easy to find a successfully-integrated one. That's why "eclectic" musical diversity is a tough task to achieve. In that sense, this album is an inspirational record.
