Says Muenzner: "We are really excited about what we have in store for everybody. This is not just another recording project; it's a real band with a killer lineup. We're in the songwriting process right now and recordings are scheduled for December/January. You can expect powerful classic metal vocals and heavy riffing with neoclassical elements backed by a thundering rhythm section. We'll be revealing the band name and the rest of the lineup very soon!"
As for Alkaloid, apart from Christian Muenzner, it features drummer Hannes Grossmann (Obscura, Blotted Science, Necrophagist), guitarist Danny Tunker (Aborted, God Dethroned) and bassist Linus Klausenitzer (Obscura, Noneuclid). The band's frontman is classical composer Florian Magnus "Morean" Maier on vocals and guitar, also known for his orchestral collaboration with Devin Townsend, Paradise Lost and his work with Dark Forest and Noneuclid. The band has just started to record their debut album. The release can be expected in early 2015.
