Black Tusk - Bassist Involved In Motorcycle Accident, Passes Away (Update)
UPDATE: Sadly, we have to report that Black Tusk's bassist Jonathan Athon has passed away. He didn't survive the motorcycle accident announced earlier. It was the band themselves that confirmed the news. This was very sudden and he was only 32. RIP.
Black Tusk said: "It is with deep regret and saddened hearts that we must tell you that Athon passed away this morning from injuries sustained from his motorcycle accident. Doctors told us that he suffered irreparable brain damage shortly after the accident. He has been in a coma and sustained by life support until now. As per his wishes, we removed Athon from his life support systems and his organs will be donated. His body will be cremated and a memorial is being planned for family and friends in Savannah. He was 32 years old and will be forever missed. Thank you all for your support during this devastating time for us, it would have made him proud."
Several bands are sending their condolences to the group and his family.
The Atlas Moth said: "R.I.P. Jonathan Athon! You will be missed. Much love to our bros in Black Tusk right now."
KEN Mode shared: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Jonathan Athon from Black Tusk. Our thoughts and love go out to his friends and family, and particularly his bandmates."
Terrible news arrive from the Black Tusk camp today. Their bassist Jonathan Athon, and his girlfriend Emily, were involved in a serious motorcycle accident. It seems like a car ran a stop sign in front of them and they had no chance to avoid a collision. Athon is in a medically-induced coma and his girlfriend is recovering in the hospital. Hopefully, they will both pull through and recover.
The band updates on their condition: "He is currently in the ICU, and the doctors have him in an induced coma to monitor his injuries. Emily is currently coherent and recovering in the hospital. The doctors are telling us that all we can do know is wait and see. We will post updates as they become available."
According to WTOC, Jonathan Anton, 32 is currently in critical condition while his passenger, 26-year-old Emily Boutwell escaped serious injuries.
