Chthonic - Acoustic Song Released
Chthonic, the Taiwanese melodic black metal band, has released its acoustic version music video for "Defenders Of Bú-Tik Palace", while officially releasing its acoustic album Timeless Sentence. The metal band's first attempt in unplugged folk music was joined by award-winning Japanese singer Chitome Hajime, who took the Taiwanese audience by surprise with her "East Asian island way of singing". You can give the song a listen down here.
It took Chthonic one full year to rearrange 11 of its classic metal songs to an acoustic version. In the new album, you will not only be able to hear Freddy's clear voice, but also Doris' singing. Traditional Asian instruments include moon zither and erhu are used to give is a special Asian touch ? on top of it, the East Asian characteristics further stands out with the sound of Chitose Hajime.
"Different from unplugged/acoustic music by western rock bands, Chthonic hopes to present the unique East Asian island style," said Doris.
Chitose Hajime, on the other hand, lauded "Defenders Of Bú-Tik Palace" as a very beautiful song, but added that it's too difficult for her to sing in Taiwanese, "I want to practice my Taiwanese so that one day, I may sing for those fans in Taiwan."
The unplugged album Timeless Sentence is out in Taiwan since December 29th, and will be launched in Japan and other countries by the end of January.
