Electric Wizard - Time To Die Removed From Retail And Streaming Outlets Over Financial Dispute
It seems that following original Electric Wizard drummer Mark Greening's abrupt booting out of the Electric Wizard camp last year at the time of Time To Die's release date (in which he recorded) and the reemergence of former bassist Tim Bagshaw with their previous label owner Lee Dorrian's (ex-Cathedral) new band With The Dead happening, it turns out that the Wizard drama is far from finished. According to Greening, main members Jus Oborn and Liz Buckingham still owe him money for the drumming work he did on the record before abruptly kicking him out.
The lawyers have gotten involved, and Spinefarm's legal council has confirmed to Greening that "the album has been taken down in all major markets and is in the process of being removed in other territories to the extent that this has not been done already." As of now, you cannot purchase digital copies of the album via iTunes or Amazon, and it's no longer streaming on Spotify; Amazon, Best Buy, and several other retail outlets are still selling physical copies, but that might change soon. A source close to Greening has shared two of Spinefarm's attorneys' letters to the drummer, which you can read here.
As of the 15th September, the band's official website has been blacked out dead.
Mark Greening's new band With The Dead's self-titled debut album will be released on the 16th of October via Rise Above Records.
