As a shameless whore for Icelandic bm, I'm excited to hear this in full. As usual, my excitement is tempered by the knowledge that when I'm excited to hear an album, it usually winds up being a huge letdown. Yay!

"Sár" is a pretty good tune. Thank you for letting me know about its existence

This is the third release I've highly anticipated from Fallen Empire Records and the third release to be delayed. Super annoying. Luckily it's only been pushed back to the 22nd.

Put this up on the 2016 recommendations, pretty amped to hear the whole thing

Not bad, really. I prefer this to Misþyrming. Funnily enough this sounds more like something from maybe mid / late 2000s Germany than it does France.

Sounds good. Nothing stands out too much but it's worth one's time.

Also, I don't quite get why musicians sometimes have 5 or 6 bands that play the same style with little nuances. I'd get bored of it...

All of them seem to play in Misþyrming, except the vocalist. Dysthymia, Carpe Noctem and 〇 also have at least two of them.

It's nowhere near as good as Misþyrming.

In addition to those, members also play in Mannveira, Úrhrak, Grafir and Skáphé. Literally none of them sound the same, so I have no idea where Vombatus is coming from.

Well I dunno about the others, but this D.G. guy is pretty active, he's also in Misþyrming, 〇, and now Skáphe as well with the Chaos Moon guy. Of those three, I would definitely suggest checking out 〇
Pretty solid black/doom and a considerably distinct sound in the larger context of the Icelandic BM scene

Too melodic/positive sounding. There's clearly a great amount of good songwriting going on here especially on the epic third track but the other tracks are slightly generic and not as much interesting though. Only a decent record but clearly not the best of this year's bm and not my style either.

It's nowhere near as good as Misþyrming.

I like it better than Misþyrming. I even brought the cd, just to mix up my collection a bit.

Congratz. I should get it too...

To me this is as good as Misþyrming. I really enjoyed the wild vibe throughout the whole album. Almost on the verge of going off the rails. There is a type of songwriting that reminds me of Volahn. Almost improv at times. Great black metal.
