Better songs here than on the 2nd album. These faster tracks #3, #5, #8 and #10 clearly show that Doro's voice suits better on heavier and/or speedier stuff. Yet, the opener "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" is definitely the best song here and also "Mission Of Mercy" of these slower songs is pretty good. Great stuff

I don't want to be unfair with Doro by saying I heard these songs a 100 times done by different bands with even better solos and vocal lines. It was released in 1989, so taking that into consideration, the album is a decent heavy metal album but I guess her voice is not something for me, I tend to prefer male vocalists in general because of a bigger range specially in the low register and better impersonation of the lyrics in some instances. Also the songs are okay but nothing special. I would give it a 6.5 but I will go with a 7 because for 1989 this album must have been a good one.

I can only think the songs weren't written by Doro herself or the band like it was with Warlock, I have heard it somewhere, maybe it's not 100% true though. It sounds like music by producers, no real heavy metal spirit, cookie cutter song writing patterns with playing safe and no risks, only fast songs break this mould. With Doro -- due to the double standards when it comes to sexes in heavy metal -- the emphasis, my estimate that is, must have been approximately this: 40% looks, 40% voice and 20% music.

Yea, definitely makes sense though I am not sure as well. Warlock's last record "Triumph And Agony" is a more enjoyable listen for me than this one.

^ God knows what's happening behind closed doors, I can only judge by what I listen to and what I read.
Warlock had quite a few line up changes for a short lived band (or maybe the 4-5 years they existed is not short?). I don't know why. I read by the time they finished their last tour, only Doro was the original member and she refused to continue under the Warlock name (also read the label wanted to release Force Majeure under Doro & Warlock or Doro Pesch's Warlock, something like that).

This album is great, I've heard worse from her. This album is one of the good ones.

Based on those albums that I've heard from Doro I do agree. This album actually has some good songs.

Bad English

Good am I'm, already big star then who became more bigger. Album is classic metal example, but studio work is bad, could be better. First female metal star who became so big.
