Hope this is a temporary diversion for their sound in the vein of Slings and Arrows, as it's perfectly okay but a long way away from the feel of the Edge of the Earth/Monolith material that was so incredible (and unlike Zaphod I still liked Dormant Heart a fair bit too).

Wouldn't call this metalcore, but it's very lazy and watered down, indeed. The disappointment is real.

I heard a small amount of melodeath influence, but predominantly bog standard metalcore for the most part to my ears.

That's very odd.

I guess I'll be the first to admit I like this band. But this track does nothing for me. Even their last album was pretty good.
