Heavens Gate - Planet E

Long time since I last heard this album, and for some reason I remember there were a lot of fillers on this one. Well that wasn't the case, the only song I don't really care for is "On the Edge", the rest is stellar melodic metal (and at times power metal). Even the obligatory ballad (The Children Play) and the two covers (Animal, This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us) are well executed.

If it weren't for weaker songs like "Back From The Dawn", "The Children Play" (although I love good rock/metal ballads) and to a lesser extent "Rebel Yell" this album would be their best. "Planet Earth" is a great prog power song with great instrumental passages and "Terminated World" is also great. Another really good track is the longest one "Noah's Dream". The rest are solid but not spectacular.
