Acid Bath v/s EyeHateGod

EyeHateGod and Acid Bath are my favourite sludge metal bands, and both considered among the fathers of the genre. Both have many things in common: hail from Lousiana, have a totally dark and nihilistic approach to life and their music and lyrics are highly corrosive. But there are also important differences: while Acid Bath are far more melodic, taking bluessy riffs and also daring to mix their sludge with equally bluessy ballads, being totally depressive in their heaviness, EyeHateGod are directly sick and fucked off, with an explisive, angry heaviness that doesn't stop and a hardcore mood.

If I'd like to add the option "both", it would probably be the chosen one, as the two bands are really something especial for me, but I'm going with Acid Bath for the sole reason that I had been more time into them, and had grew in me... I bought their album "When The kite String Pops" about 5 years ago, and since that moment I truly love the band.

You guys suck at being brittish (=gentleman) and filthy sludgy at the same time, that's why i don't buy it too much
You guys are better just being gentlemen... Like Akercocke and A Forest Of Stars.

Voted Eyehategod. I prefer their vocals over the clean vocals on Acid Bath. Confederacy of Ruined Lives is a badass album
