The reunion that was never going to happen turned into the reunion that was never intended to take so long; Porcupine Tree waited just long enough for probably all but the most ardent believer to give up on any hope of a return before getting back together.

Never been too into this band.
That being said, the release of Harridan made me curious.

Steven Wilson was wrong on the last part

Right, and thus his last excuse was gone. His hand was forced and he had to get the band back together.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the new song posted today.

I've been a fan for 10 years and never thought I would see this day come! Looking forward to new material from them at last!

Friggin' a, man. PT with a new album - new tour - just what we need to feel some hope after that insincere SW album. Another Caucasian, Gary!

Really looking forward to it too after all this time. His last solo albums didn't do it for me. The album artwork of the new PT album looks pretty bad to be honest but hopefully the music will be awesome.

The second Single made me cancel my pre-order. And after talking with many people I think nobody likes the new tracks that much. It is just a hype because they have not released anything new in a long time.

Very happy with the album. I've only heard it once, but I found most of it very engaging and interesting. I don't think anyone was expecting a masterpiece, but this a really solid effort. Looking forward to spending more time with it.

Harridan, Of The New Day, Rats Return & Population Three are the best from this great album. I love this album.

Steven, Gavin and Richard nailed it once again. The production is unbelievable. Gavin's drumming is beyond words. Steven's usage of Strats guitar on these songs is absolutely delicious and his new exploration on bass was cool. It's a solid record.

I'm a tad disappointed. Maybe it will grow on me, the way Harridan has since they released it as a single. I definitely hope so, since that has become one of my favourite PT songs!
Shoutout to whoever mixed and mastered this though (most likely Wilson and the rest of the band). The sound is absolutely incredible and one of the best sounding rock albums I've heard in a while. Great dynamics and the performances are outstanding, enhanced a ton by the great mix.

I've only listend to it once today and I like it, but it's still too early to say if I love it. Chimera's Wreck is an amazing album closer, probably the best of the album along with Harridian.

Fans have been waiting since 2009 for new material and you just show up out of nowhere in time for a new album. Who do you think you are? Enjoy

Haha, yep was always aware of them but my timing for getting into them couldn't have been better as I'll also be seeing them live in November:)

Like most PT albums it's going to take a few listens to me to decide how good this is. Genuinely impressed by the ability of some people to listen to an album once - especially a prog record - and deduce a comprehensive opinion about it.

On first listen it sounds pretty decent - but it will take multiple listens for it to truly reveal its secrets.

On a first run through the first half of the album, sounds quite good, way heavier than what Steven Wilson has been doing for the last years

I used to love PT unconditionally.

I had no expectations regarding new album. In fact listening to Wilson's solo efforts made me very apprehensive.

I tried very hard to like this album. I spent hours listening to it spin after spin... And nothing. I do not like it at all. I am reading some extremely enthusiastic comments above and I am thinking "am I listening to the same album?". Or is it the case extreme hype and long wait, clouding the judgement? Album is far from being good and only interesting aspect i find in it is when I start to listen instruments "separately", concentrating only on bass or drums or guitars
