Sabaton - Debut Another Single From Upcoming Album
As part of their upcoming album The War To End All Wars, Swedish metal war chroniclers Sabaton open the history books again to present their new single "Soldier Of Heaven", giving that overlooked chapter of WWI a voice, a tune and an impressive music video.
Bassist Pär Sundström comments about the song: "We already released the "Christmas Truce" and here comes another song which shows the diversity of the new album. In the early listening sessions of the new album this one was noted among most people as a top song and we know that this will be a powerful sing-a-long anthem on future concerts. So study the lyrics, get your ass to a show and make sure you kill corona in the process!"

This track feels like it has no chorus, just a very subdued (by power metal standards) verse, followed by a slightly more forceful verse. I don't know whether this is Sabaton realizing that almost all of their material sounds the same and trying to change things, but if it is, they're doing it wrong. You don't improve/switch things up by making your songs less epic. The melodies aren't the worst thing ever, but the song just lacks all fucking power and isn't catchy at all. If a Sabaton song isn't catchy, then it has literally nothing going for it in my opinion.

Haven't listened to the previously released single yet, but this one is pretty mediocre. Extremely predictable, even for a Sabaton song. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by a new and bold/unique approach to their formula, but yeah... this feels very generic tbh.
