I agree with your prior assessment that this is almost certainly your best interview. Honestly, I think this sets a new standard for us; it's a slice of real journalism. As fun as it is conducting/transcribing/reading interviews with more local musicians about tours and jokes and David Lynch, there are some really serious topics packed into this one and the
Confess saga is both infuriating and inspiring. I'm glad you took the opportunity to talk to Nikan about everything and really dug into some of the implications of everything that has been happening with him. He seems like a really cool guy and I loved hearing you talk about Iranian history, culture, and society together. I also love it when people say that they've never been asked these questions in interviews before; that's something to take pride in.
I had to pause partway through and listen to their last single again. I don't know that it's going to be my preferred style, but after this I have to listen to
Revenge At All Costs at all costs.
