So, I'm going to ask you a few questions, Are you sad? Do you want to be sad? Do you like to be sad? Can you notice the difference between sadness and boredom?, If the answers are yes, yes, yes, and no, please keep reading, if not, keep reading anyway, because I took my time writing this, so the least you can do for me is read this.

Anyway, here's Italian Doomsters Canaan with their fourth album, and a package full of depression. First of all , this is not your traditional Doom release, because unlike most Doom releases it has some Rock and Gothic Metal in the mix.

At the get-go you can notice the rock/gothic influences, track 2 "Prayer For Nothing" (track 1, "For Those Who Cried" is a instrumental/atmospheric track), this song has the "Gothic" feel to it, but it still manages to sound unique, the vocals are just nice, very deep, very melancholic, truly great!

This album has a lot of atmospherics tracks, I can't call them songs, they're just there, I usually skip them (I think they're pretty pointless). For my surprise some songs are sung in Italian, which I think is really great (weird, but great), It's always cool to hear Metal singed in other language than English.

The downpoint of this one is that tends to get boring sometimes, with all the atmospheric tracks and slow paced songs (except "Grey" -great song-), I found this album to be an occasional listen, I fear that if I listen too much to this one, I will totally lose the will to live.

So put this one in rainy days, or foggy ones, or if you want to hear something slow, calm, dark, melancholic, if you manage to stay awake while the "atmospheric" songs are playing, you'll have a good time (or a sad one?) listening to the "real" songs, like I did.
