"Killers" is one of the oldest heavy/speed metal bands from France. This is also one of the favourite bands of the French metalheads and that since more than 20 years now. "Le Côté Live ! " is the second live album of the band and when I listen this album, I really understand why this band coming from the French Basque country is one of the leaders of the French Metal scene.
"Killers" do a very good speed/heavy metal, with a lot of touch of Hard Rock, they use to sing in French but also and it's original in Basque language. The sound of "Killers" is powerful very catchy and stirring and we have the proof of this excellent side of the band with their last live album. This band is good we known that before, but with that album, we see also that the guys are great in live too. Even if this cd, recorded in the town of the band, is more than an intimist show than a big gig we can see that the crowd is present and the guys "at home" are totally unleash for this show.
"Le Côté Live!" is a great live album, with a lot of killing songs, like "Rosalind", "L'Assassin", "Arrantazale" or the excellent cover of the French singer Barbara, "L'Aigle Noir". The sound is great there aren't any problems with that and it's a real pleasure to listen this live album.
With 16 tracks and more than 1h15mins [well maybe the only problem for me? it's a little short] of music, "Le Côté Live!" is one of this live album that every fan of a band must have, but if you don't know "Killers" this one could certainly be a good start to discover this excellent French band.
The other excellent good point of the cd is the booklet. 20 pages of pictures, lyrics etc? with in addition the "Killers Magazine" and then an interview of the singer, the translation of the Basque lyrics in French and a lot of good things.
We must congratulate Killers and Brennus Records because believe me we don't see this kind of production every day. At the end "Le Côté Live!" is more than a collector than a basic Live album.
In conclusion I will recommend this excellent album for all the fans of speed metal, even if is not sing in English, I really think that you could try this band with this album, and I'm sure that you could be really surprised. For the others that know Killers if you don't have again this album you must buy it because it's great that's all.
An excellent live album of Metal a great work, a must have?
