"Arab Dream" is surprising actually. First that's hard to see a lot of demo with such production. I don't say that the recording is perfect, even if it is still really good but the artworks are impressive. That's easy, you have something that looks more than professional and evidently that's a sign.
Musically, Brutart plays a slow melodic Death Metal that is actually not really far of Doom and maybe, that it will remember you the first Katatonia. However, this is a bit different in reason of those oriental touches that we can find on the album, like an Orphaned Land, Brutar chose to add those interesting and singular sonorities that we are not able to listen to everyday unfortunately. And that's a good choice because it gives a particular aspect to the music of the band. That's something that we cannot forget in general.
However, I have the feeling that the musicians are not so sure of their abilities, I mean that we have this feeling that we can find with young bands, that's a bit hesitant... But are we not in front of a young band that only releases their first demo? Definitely, and this guys, believe me, have a lot of potentiality then this assurance will probably come soon.
"Arab Dream" is a nice first demo, and we will probably hear about Brutart in the future. That's up to the band if they know how to add some more personality to the music but in my opinion it should work for them. Time will tell but if you like this kind of music, have a look on it, "Arab Dream" deserves it?
