"The Red Frame" smells the good old "Gothenburg" Death Metal I cannot deny this fact. Actually the music remembers me the sound of the lasts Dark Tranquillity especially in reason of the numerous electronic parts played by the keyboards. But on the other hand, we have also some other "music" in this CD, "The Red Frame" is also inspired buy powerful Metal à la Machine Head or even Death/Thrash à la Hatesphere. This is powerful and catchy and really it's easy to see that we're in front of an interesting young band that will probably know success easily and soon.
The musicians of the combo are good, I don't say that they're super masters of their respective instruments (remember that they are still young) but they're all good players and with a really good work on the production it's easy to listen to all the instruments. And that's a good point.
Then oki, the principal problem of this album comes from the fact that it is not something really new, surprising and original but this is just a Demo and the first album of the band will come next year, and believe me the band already know how to find its personal sound, then I believe in them. It's not so hard to see if a band only do a plagiary of something or not, and I don't think that it is the case of myGRAIN. Yes, they're influenced by some bands but after only one 1 year they already look like a confirmed band with its own personality.
No doubt that myGRAIN will do something in the "Gothenburg" Death Metal scene. There is all the ingredients in this demo to find the success. However I hope that the band will know how to improve their music again and again to give us some great surprise with their first album. If they know how to do that? they will win the jackpot!!!
