Do you remember how Deicide and Immolation used to sound? Those times were amazing actually, now Deicide sucks, Immolation is no longer talking about Satan, and Satanist Death Metal in general sucks badly and every band sounds awful and stuff right? WRONG, if you feel this way is just because you haven't heard "Evil Incarnate" yet, this band will make you shit inverted crucifixes once more, is that cool or what.
"Waiting For His Return" is an album filled with Satanist lyrics, incredible guitar riffs, distorted Bass-lines, multifaceted drumming and crushing music in general. This band is Death Metal in the vein of older Immolation, the music is brutal as hell but it manages to create really memorable moments, some moments you'll be head-banging like a maniac and the next you'll be paying attention to the complexity of the Intermezzo and so on.
"Did Not Die For Me" is maybe the best song in this album, wrapped with fascinating lines and awesome music (a lot of breakdowns and bridges in this one). This 5th track is a bullet in your forehead slowly drilling your brain. Many tracks have the same structure actually, so you'll be hearing incredible scales all along this CD believe me, the music often goes from really brutal to incredibly catchy, then from aggressive lines to slow riffing. There are many things hidden in this album, just wait till you push play, then songs like "Temple Of Blasphemy", "Did Not Die For Me" (already mentioned) and "Terror In The Holy Land" will not leave your head in many days.
Maybe you are not into Satanist stuff, but that's not a problem here, even though the vocals are understandable enough (the growls are really low but comprehensible) you won't care about this fact I promise, you'll be busy breaking your neck while listening to the riffs. I highly recommend this album to every Satanic Death Metal fanatic, if you miss the old days with a cooler Benton, you'll worship "Waiting For His Return" for sure.
