Two years after their first really good CD "Follow The Instructions" FOB, a band that comes from the Czech Republic, is back with their new release "Default". Let me tell you that if you're bored by Melodic Death Metal and wants a good Death, this is probably something for you. On the other hand, have some progressive parts in their music and it's really cool.
If I can say that FOB plays a classic Death Metal I must evidently add that they also play something a bit progressive. It was already the case on the first release and it's definitely the case on their new album too. The result is really interesting because this CD is not so common and if the ones who want real Death will be happy, the ones that want something more will be really happy too.
As an example, there is a lot of solos not so far away of Jazz for example and it's really fresh to have this kind of arrangements on an album. But evidently don't misunderstand me, this is above all a solid album of Death Metal and you will see that the singer deosn't suffer of any comparison with the leaders of the genre. Even if the production is not perfect one more time it's definitely better than on the first album and it's easy to see that the band is getting some more maturity. The songs a re a lot more complex and technical really and I don't have anything to add.
"Default" is a great confirmation of all the good hopes that I had on this band. This is original well done and I'm sure that FOB will find a lot of fans and success with the release of this album. If you want to listen to something more than classic Death Metal have a look on this album and you won't regret it
